Two people were critically injured and two pedestrians killed in an Echo Park fatal accident this weekend. A silver Mustang GT lost control and struck a street light and fire hydrant near a bus stop where three women were waiting on Sunset Boulevard. Two Filipino-American women, aged 81 and 78 years, were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The third woman waiting with the other two was pinned beneath the car. She and the driver of the Mustang were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition.
Fatal pedestrian accidents are more common here in Southern California. The families of the women lost on Sunday appear to have a strong wrongful death case under California law. When someone loses their life in a fatal accident due to someone else’s negligence, it is known in California as a wrongful death. These cases can be quite complex and require an attorney with experience and proven legal skill. While neither drugs or alcohol appear to have been a factor in this case, the driver of the Mustang lost control of his vehicle resulting in catastrophic consequences. Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims and for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.
My name is Rivers Morrell, and after 40 years of experience in wrongful death accidents I can tell you the family should consider filing an action quickly while the memories of witnesses are still fresh. I am able to take all of the burden of communications with insurance companies and the Court off of the family’s shoulders so that they may focus on comforting one another through this difficult period.
The two pedestrians killed in an Echo Park fatal accident were quietly waiting at a bus stop. There were police officers who witnessed the accident and can testify to the forces involved and the impact on those involved.
