Two Southwest Airlines airplanes clipped each other’s wings while departing the gate in Oakland this evening. One of the planes was heading to John Wayne Airport in Orange County when it collided with a neighboring plane while leaving the gate in Oakland. The brush damaged a significant portion of the wing of the plane heading to John Wayne Airport. Fortunately there were no injuries reported, but both planes had to be removed from service.
