A 26 year old drumline teacher at Saddleback High School in Santa Ana was seriously injured in a Santa Ana hit and run accident yesterday. The man’s father reported the teacher is suffering from severe head injuries, and our thoughts are with the injured teacher, as well as his family and students. The teacher was struck in a crosswalk at 2:00 am in the morning at Bristol Street and Central Avenue while crossing on a green light.
Initially the female driver stopped to check on the teacher, and a passing skateboarder said he would go for help. The woman then jumped back into her 4-door black BMW with paper plates and left the scene. A witness captured a photo of the woman before she fled.
The head injuries to the victim are quite severe, and his father estimates he has a 50/50 chance of living.
