A 45 year old Lake Elsinore man was unfortunately killed in a fatal pedestrian accident when he was struck by a car in a crosswalk in Newport Beach. The man was crossing Westcliff Drive at approximately 8:30 pm using the crosswalk, and police are investigating what happened next. He was taken to a local hospital where he passed away later in the evening.
Police do not suspect DUI or drugs as a reason for the accident, and the driver of the car remained at the accident scene and cooperated with local police. If anyone witnessed the accident is asked to call investigator Dave Darling at (949) 644-3746.
