A female passenger died from a serious car accident that took place in Westminster in Orange County over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. The accident occurred when a vehicle crashed into a tree in the afternoon at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday near Bolsa Avenue and East Drive. The driver of the vehicle was also injured in the crash. Unfortunately, the female passenger of the vehicle was not wearing her seat-belt at the time of the accident, and she sustained serious injuries from which she died shortly after the crash at UCI Medical Center in Orange. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the deceased passenger involved in this accident. At this time, Orange County authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the afternoon crash.
If the driver of the accident were found to be at fault or negligent in the accident, the family of the deceased party may seek to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the accident. A wrongful death cause of action is unique in that it is not brought by the deceased victim, but rather, but his family members who will suffer a loss of the decedent’s companionship.
