Anaheim Bicyclist was Critically Injured in Car Accident

An Anaheim bicyclist was critically injured in a car accident last week in the 900 block of South Beach Boulevard.  There is no crosswalk or traffic control device in that location.  The bicyclist was struck by a Nissan Murano, whose driver stopped and remained at the scene.  The injured bicyclist was removed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Our thoughts remain with the victim of the accident and their family.  Too many accidents involving bicyclists have happened recently, and as Spring approaches the number of bicyclists will only increase.

The momentum of a heavy vehicle is no match for a person on a bike.  Bicycle accidents often result in serious injuries involving head trauma, broken bones and internal injuries.  Unfortunately, many of these accidents are the result of a hit and run driver, leaving the injury victim wondering how to recover for the financial expenses and losses they’ve been forced to endure.  In these cases, or when the driver has a minimum level of insurance, the difference is covered by the victim’s own uninsured/under-insured Motorist or UM/UIM automobile insurance coverage.  This is true for bicyclists and pedestrians.

We look forward to the day when bicycle safety and driver awareness reduces or eliminates accidents and incidents where a bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a car.  If you or a family member are injured in a bicycle accident we invite you to call for a free and substantive consultation at (949)305-1400.  There is no cost to you out of pocket, and our fees are covered on a contingency basis.
